Why Tax2u

Real Accountants. No Hidden Fees. Fast Turnaround.

We don't hand your tax return to a robot. Every file is reviewed by a qualified accountant who knows UK tax law — and you always know exactly what you're paying.

01

Qualified accountants, not just software

Every self assessment, VAT return and CIS filing is handled by a real UK-qualified accountant. Software catches numbers; accountants catch opportunities to save you money and keep you compliant.

02

One fixed price — no surprises

From one-off registrations to monthly compliance — every service has a clear price before you sign anything. No bill-by-the-hour surprises, no upsells mid-engagement, no invoice you weren't expecting.

03

HMRC deadlines handled for you

We track every filing deadline — 31 January self assessment, quarterly VAT, monthly CIS — and make sure nothing is late. HMRC late-filing penalties start at £100 and escalate fast. We keep you clear.

Self Assessment Tax Return

The most important date in the self-employed calendar. Your completed tax return and any tax owed must reach HMRC by midnight. Late filing triggers an immediate £100 penalty.

CIS Monthly Return

Contractors must submit a CIS return to HMRC by the 19th of each month, declaring all payments to subcontractors. Missing a single month carries a £100 penalty — rising steeply after 12 months.

FAQ

Common questions about UK tax services

Answers to what self-employed individuals, CIS workers and small businesses ask us most.

Tax2u offers a full range of UK tax and accounting services: UTR number registration, self-employed and CIS subcontractor registration, self assessment tax returns, CIS tax rebates (average £1,800 returned), Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance for both Income Tax and VAT, VAT registration and quarterly filing, bookkeeping and accounting, CIS contractor registration and monthly CIS returns, and Companies House company registration and annual confirmation statements.
Tax2u's self assessment service is included in both plans. The Silver plan starts at £24/month (£288/year) + VAT and covers your annual self assessment tax return, document storage and email support. The Gold plan at £30/month also includes accounting software, MTD quarterly submissions, phone support and a dedicated account manager.
A UTR (Unique Taxpayer Reference) is issued by HMRC when you register for self assessment. You can register directly on gov.uk — this takes 2–3 weeks. Tax2u's UTR registration service handles the entire process and typically confirms your UTR within 10 working days. You need a UTR if you're self-employed, a landlord, a CIS worker, or a company director receiving income outside PAYE.
CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) subcontractors have 20% or 30% deducted from their payments by contractors. At the end of the tax year, if those deductions exceed your actual tax bill, HMRC owes you the difference back as a rebate. The average CIS rebate processed through Tax2u is £1,800, with the largest single rebate being £7,500. Tax2u has returned over £4.6 million to CIS workers to date.
You must register for VAT with HMRC if your taxable turnover exceeds £90,000 in any rolling 12-month period (2024/25 threshold). Voluntary registration below this threshold can also benefit you if your clients are VAT-registered businesses. Tax2u handles VAT registration, quarterly VAT returns, and full MTD for VAT compliance — all included in the Gold plan.
Making Tax Digital (MTD) is HMRC's programme requiring digital record-keeping and software-based submissions. MTD for VAT is already mandatory for all VAT-registered businesses. MTD for Income Tax Self Assessment (ITSA) applies from April 2026 for self-employed people and landlords with income over £50,000, and from April 2027 for those earning over £30,000. Tax2u's Gold plan includes full MTD compliance, setup and quarterly submissions.
Yes. Tax2u handles the full Companies House registration process — memorandum and articles of association, director and shareholder registration, and obtaining your company number. Tax2u also files annual confirmation statements to keep your company in good standing. Contact us for a one-off quote on company formation.
Yes. Tax2u Limited is a UK-registered accountancy firm. All tax returns and HMRC submissions are handled by qualified accountants — not software alone. Tax2u is rated 5 stars on Trustpilot by over 8,310 verified clients and has processed more than 15,459 tax rebates and returns since launch.
